Quality Control Material for Determination of
Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD)

CAUTION:This quality control material was prepared from HBsAg, Anti-HCV, Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR), Anti-HIV, Anti-HTLV negative adult red blood cell, but still should be used under standard laboratory safety guidelines to avoid BIOHAZARD!!

I. Direction for use:

  1. Open the bottle carefully and add 0.5ml lysing reagent (the one your lab use).
  2. Stand the bottle on ice for 5 min, then shake gently until the lyophilized material totally dissolved.
  3. Keep the dissolved hemolysate on ice and use it as soon as possible.
  4. Use this dissolved QC material as the hemolysate for determination of both G6PD and hemoglobin directly.

II. Storage:

  1. The freeze-dried QC material should be kept below 4oC, preferable at -20oC.
  2. Dissolved material is not stable even at -20oC.
  3. Dissolved material could be kept 0.1ml in each test tubes at -70oC. And the dissolved material should be froze only once.   The stability of long time storage at this condition has not been established.

III. Record and Report:

After the QC specimens are assayed, login the MIS system (https://g6pd.tw/MIS/) and key in the result of each QC determination.  Print the report from MIS website, signed by person in charge of QC and fax to the QAP Center, Preventive Medicine Foundation, for confirmation.
